The name "orangutan (红毛猩猩)"means "man of the forest" in the Malay language. A century ago, there were about 230,000 orangutans in the wild，but now there are only about 112,000. They are in dange.
People have cut down the forests so it's hard for orangutans to find wild fruit they feed on. People also kill many orangutans. So many baby orangutans do not have moms to teach them what they need to know.
That's why an animal organization(组织) called Four Paws built schools for orangutans. The schools teach baby orangutans how to live in the wild.
Orangutans go to different schools. Usually the youngest babies go to the Nursery(育儿所). People feed them and look after them all day long. When the orangutans are 2, they go to Baby School. They learn how to climb trees and look for food. When they turn 4 years old, they go to Forest School. They stay in the forest at night. Now they can do more without help from people.
After a few years, the orangutans have learned everything they need to know. People take them into the forest and let them go.
The orangutans will grow in the forest. Maybe one day they will have babies. They can teach them everything they learned at orangutan schools.
