part作为动词的用法,需要掌握扎实

part,很多情况下作为名词用法,但是也有作为动词的用法,需要认真掌握。
☞ part
verb
1. [I,T] [written] to move the two sides of something apart, or to move apart, making a space in the middle
• (使)分开,(使)分离:
»When he parted the curtains, the sunlight flooded into the room.
他拉开窗帘,阳光洒进屋内。
»The crowd parted to let him through.
人群分开让他通过。
»Ralph's lips parted in a delighted smile.
拉尔夫咧开嘴开心地笑了。
2. [I] [written] to separate from someone, or end a relationship with them
• 分手,断绝关系:
»They parted on amicable terms.
他们友好地分手了。

»He has parted from his wife.
他和妻子分居了。
3. be parted (from sb),  to be prevented from being with someone
• 和(某人)分离:
»They were hardly ever parted in thirty years of marriage.
在三十年的婚姻生活中,他们几乎从没有分开过。
»He hates being parted from the children.
他不愿和孩子们分离。
4. part company (with sb)
a. to go in different directions after having gone in the same direction
• (和某人)分道而行:
»The two women parted company outside their rooms.
那两位女子在各自的房间外分手了。
b. to end a relationship with someone
• (与某人)断绝关系:
»George parted company with the band in 1996.
乔治于 1996 年脱离了乐队。
c. to disagree with someone about something
• (和某人)意见不合,(和某人)有分歧:
»He parted company with Lloyd George over post-war diplomacy.
他和劳合∙乔治在战后外交问题上意见不合。
5. [T] if you part your hair, you comb some of your hair in one direction and the rest in the other direction
• 用梳子给〔头发〕分缝【PHR V】
part with sth
• to give something to someone else, although you do not want to
• 〔不情愿地〕放弃某物,舍弃某物:
»I'm reluctant to part with any of the kittens, but we need the money.
我不愿放弃任何一只小猫,但是我们需要钱。

LEAVE SB 离开某人
1. [V] ~ (from sb) (formal)  if a person parts from another person, or ten people part, they leave each other
   离开;分别:
   We parted at the airport.
   我们在飞机场分手了。
   I hate to part on such bad terms.
   我不愿在关系这么恶劣时分手。
   He has recently parted from his wife (= they have started to live apart).
   他最近与妻子分居了。

KEEP APART 隔离
2. [VN] [often passive] ~ sb (from sb) (formal)  to prevent sb from being with sb else
   分离;分开;隔离:
   I hate being parted from the children.
   我不愿与孩子们分开。
   The puppies were parted from their mother at birth.
   小狗崽儿一出生就和它们的妈妈分开了。
MOVE AWAY 移开
3. if ten things or parts of things part or you part them, they move away from each other
   分散;分开;解散

   The elevator doors parted and out stepped the President.
   电梯门打开了,总统从里面步出。

   Her lips were slightly parted.

4. [VN] to divide your hair into ten sections with a comb , creating a line that goes from the back of your head to the front
   分开;梳成分头:
   He parts his hair in the middle.
   他梳着中分头。

part 'company (with / from sb)
1. to leave sb; to end a relationship with sb
   离开;分手;断绝关系:
   This is where we part company (= go in different directions).
   这就是我们分手的地方。
   The band have parted company with their manager.
   乐队与其经理人已散伙了。
   The band and their manager have parted company.
   乐队与其经理人已散伙了。
2. to disagree with sb about sth
   (与某人)有意见分歧:
   Weber parted company with Marx on a number of important issues.
   韦伯与马克思在若干重大问题上意见有分歧。

PHRASAL VERBS
'part with sth
   to give sth to sb else, especially sth that you would prefer to keep
   放弃,交出(尤指不舍得的东西):
   Make sure you read the contract before parting with any money.
   一定要注意先看清合约再交钱。
