Relying too heavily on a single connector like "however" can lead to repetitive writing. Here are some strategies to vary your sentence structures and reduce overuse of "however":
【解答1】
Synonyms: Replace "however" with synonyms like "nevertheless," "nonetheless," "still," or "yet."

Example: The weather was gloomy; nevertheless, we decided to go for a walk.

Transition Phrases: Instead of using "however" to show contrast, use other transition phrases like "on the other hand," "in contrast," or "but."

Example: The movie was entertaining, but on the other hand, the plot was predictable.

Rephrase Sentences: Transform the sentence structure to eliminate the need for "however."

Example: We expected rain; nonetheless, the sun came out. → Despite our expectation of rain, the sun came out.

Use Conjunctive Adverbs: Introduce sentences with conjunctive adverbs like "consequently," "hence," or "therefore" to convey a logical relationship.

Example: He forgot his umbrella; hence, he got drenched.

By incorporating these strategies, you can add variety to your writing and reduce reliance on a single connector.

Avoiding overuse of the word "however" can add variety and flow to your writing. Here are some alternatives and strategies to diversify your transition words:

    Use Synonyms:
Instead of "however," try using synonyms like "nevertheless," "nonetheless," "yet," or "still."

Example: She was tired; nevertheless, she continued working on her project.

    Start a New Sentence:
Instead of relying on a transition word, start a new sentence to express a contrast or shift in ideas.

Example: The weather was beautiful. In contrast, the mood in the room was somber.

    Use Phrases or Clauses:
Introduce contrasts using phrases or clauses without relying on a specific transition word.

Example: Despite the challenges, they persevered and completed the task.

    Employ Conjunctive Adverbs:
Explore other conjunctive adverbs such as "consequently," "nevertheless," "furthermore," or "meanwhile" to convey relationships between ideas.

Example: She didn't want to go; furthermore, she had other commitments.

    Restructure Sentences:
Rearrange sentence structure to convey contrasts without explicitly using transition words.

Example: He loved the city. Living in a rural area, however, appealed to her more.

    Use Punctuation:
Employ punctuation like em dashes or colons to create a pause or separation between contrasting ideas.

Example: The results were unexpected — they were extraordinary.

    Vary Sentence Patterns:
Mix up your sentence patterns to create natural transitions without relying on specific transition words.

Example: In spite of the challenges, the team succeeded in reaching their goal.

Remember, the key is to vary your language and employ a mix of techniques to signal shifts in thought or contrast. This not only enhances the readability of your writing but also adds nuance and sophistication to your expression.

Both are perfectly normal in academic writing. You can mix things up by using:
However
  • nevertheless
  • nonetheless
  • X notwithstanding
  • This is not always/seldom/never the case for...
  • ..., yet, ...
Therefore
  • Thus
  • Ergo
  • Hence
  • Accordingly
  • For this/that reason

Para evitar la repetición del uso de "sin embargo", puedes recurrir a otras expresiones que tengan un significado similar. Aquí hay algunas opciones:

    No obstante:
Ejemplo: "No obstante, existen otras opciones disponibles."

    A pesar de ello:
Ejemplo: "A pesar de ello, la situación no mejoró."

    Aun así:
Ejemplo: "Aun así, persisten ciertos desafíos."

    De todos modos:
Ejemplo: "De todos modos, es necesario abordar el problema."

    Por otro lado:
Ejemplo: "Por otro lado, se observaron mejoras en otros aspectos."

Estas alternativas pueden ayudar a diversificar tu escritura y evitar la monotonía asociada con el uso repetitivo de una sola expresión.
